FAQs
What is PF Changes Inc.?
- PF Changes Inc. is a nonprofit that empowers young adults from all walks of life to enter adulthood with confidence and enthusiasm. This organization provides charitable and educational programs that support young people who lack mentorship or community support. We believe meaningful change happens when people have access to the right information, relationships, resources, encouragement, and opportunities.
What makes PF Changes Inc. different?
- PF Changes Inc. believes long-term empowerment requires looking beyond a person’s immediate problem and addressing the whole individual. A person’s past, current circumstances, or setbacks do not have to determine their future. Our work encourages people to recognize their potential, strengthen their foundation, make informed decisions, develop practical life skills, and continue moving forward.
What is the Placement Approach vs. the Family approach?
- The Placement approach is a method of providing young people with the bare minimum because they are not open to accepting support. As a result, participants in PF Changes Inc.’s programs receive the assistance they need to survive but not thrive.
- The Family Approach is a method in which young adults and their mentors work together to create eye-opening experiences that show youth just how big the world is and confirm that their lives are not defined solely by negative experiences and hardships.
How can I enroll in PF Changes Inc.’s programs?
- PF Changes Inc. accepts participants on a rolling basis – all are welcome! For general inquiries about any of the programs or PF Changes Inc., please email info@pfchangesinc.org. To enroll in our educational programs, become a part of the community, and get the experience of a lifetime, fill out one of our interest forms on our “Get Involved” page.
Is the 15-week Cohort therapy/counseling?
- No, the PF Changes Inc. cohort is an educational program for mentorship and personal development. It does not replace licensed mental-health treatment, medical care, legal advice, financial advice, or other professional services. When appropriate, participants may be encouraged to seek assistance from qualified professionals or community organizations.
Is assistance from PF Changes Inc. guaranteed?
- Unfortunately, it is not. PF Changes Inc. makes reasonable efforts to provide information, guidance, services, and/or referrals when resources are available, but assistance cannot be guaranteed. Program availability may depend on funding, eligibility, staffing, donations, partner availability, geographic location, and the individual’s circumstances.
Does PF Changes Inc. provide housing?
- PF Changes Inc. is not currently represented as a residential housing provider. However, we may assist individuals with housing-resource navigation, referrals, information, and connections to organizations that specialize in shelters, transitional housing, rental assistance, supportive housing, and other housing programs.
